My family came to America as Jewish refugees from Soviet Ukraine and settled in Brooklyn with almost nothing. I later lived in Staten Island and Long Island before making Manhattan’s East Side my home more than 20 years ago. I graduated from Hofstra University, built a career in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, started my own business, and completed an entrepreneurship program at Wharton.

I married young, raised two sons, and learned that life rarely goes according to plan. Like so many New Yorkers, I’ve gone through divorce, fought for my children in a broken family court system, faced housing struggles, and dealt with the rising cost of living in this city. Neglect isn’t an abstract issue to me. I know what it feels like to fight for your family in a courtroom, struggle to afford the place you call home, and face systems that make people feel powerless while expecting them to accept less.

Today, I live in Yorkville and am a businesswoman, entrepreneur, and mother of two. I don’t come from political connections or inherited privilege. What I have, I’ve built. I believe government should make people’s lives easier, not harder, by providing accountability, opportunity, public safety, support for strong families, and fewer bureaucratic barriers standing in the way.
